In true Downton Abbey style, this elegant little whip has a sterling cap and cuff, signed & dated 1914 by William Thomas Bullock of Coventry/London. The handle is covered in reptile leather - lizard? Or small croc? And the shaft appears to be woven/plaited gut or linen. All have a wonderful patina and are excellent shape. The inner shaft is most likely whalebone. The top cap has a sterling link to accommodate a ribbon hand loop. (We can add one at no charge, if requested.)

We have refurbished the plaited end popper in the style of the period, as the original was long since lost.  This stunning whip is feather light & flexible, but also quite sturdy. It is a Collector’s piece that can be enjoyed on display or in the hands of a rider who can appreciate its history and the mastery with which it was crafted.
