The horseshoe has the Lucky 7 nail pattern and was designed to hang with the bars down, consistent with the belief at the time that one should have luck “pouring over oneself” at all times. However, knowing the modern propensity to eschew “upside down” horseshoes, we have shown it facing up.
The pin is 1 3/4” long with a 1 5/8” stickpin closing with a simple pressure clasp. It should be ok to wear this one facing up because the clasp is relatively secure. However, know there is an increased risk as the clasp was designed for the other way around.
As we say with all of our decorative, fine metal stockpins, please bring a regular bandage pin in your pocket while hunting. You don’t want to be forced to use this one on your horse’s leg!
