This hunt whip brooch is made of yellow and white gold and has chocolate diamonds for the staghorn hook end. It is a reproduction of a 19th c design. In keeping with the original design, it closes with a simple C clasp. However, the pin has a coiled spring, giving this pin a more secure closure.
The whip is 1 5/8” long and the pin is 1 1/8” long. It would be considered too ornate to be used as a stock pin by most hunts, and the pin portion is too short to pass through the layers of a tied stock. (And, you certainly wouldn’t want to pin a bandage with diamonds!) However, this would be appropriate bling for a dressage stock in the show ring.
