This is an amazing antique flask crafted with fine leather and masterful stitching. The handblown, glass flask is 10” long, when measured with its silverplated, hinged top in the closed position. It probably dates from the 1930’s-1940’s.
But this is the really cool thing about this case: the flask is actually a set, complete with a silverplated cup. The cup is unmarked, with a gold washed lining, and fits perfectly on top of this flask. It fits so well, in fact, that the total measurement of flask & cup is still 10”, because the cup is such an exact fit and sits firmly in place.
The leather case is perfectly sized for the flask set, as well. The leather has the beautiful patina that only age and good care can bestow.
Please note, this case was made before the advent of the forward seat, so if you want to take it in the field, you may need to retrofit the billet strap to make it long enough to fit the dimensions of a modern saddle. Also, there is no D ring strap, but any quality saddler can provide this.
