This hunt crop is both beautiful and fully functional. Made at turn of the century, it has been refinished and has a brand new keeper.
Its main feature, of course, is its sterling clad, “staghorn” hook end. It also has a gold colored, decorative collar, probably made from Pinchbeck metal, a zinc & copper alloy used frequently in the 19th and early 20th c to imitate gold.
The smooth, refinished shaft is lightweight and balanced. It is suitable for either a lady or a man. It is 20” long and 5/8” wide.
*Please note: the butt end of the staghorn hook has been bashed in, and this whip rattles some when moved because of fragments enclosed in the silver. While this would hardly be a distraction in full cry, we point this out for those whom this might otherwise bother. Please look at all the photos listed.
