This striking British Antique is sure to please any lady who rides aside. The lovely 4.5” horn hook has a flat top (to push gates opens) and a pretty patina. The hook end is capped with an elaborately decorated 10 ct gold plated end piece. This is paired with a matching, gold plated collar on the shaft, with an engraved cartouche. The middle/largest initial of the flowing, hand engraving is an “E”, but the other 2 letters can be whatever you decide! The collar is hallmarked “20 ct G.P.” and signed with maker’s mark, “C&D”. The exact age is hard to know without a date mark, but is likely late 1800’s-early 1900’s. The long, dark finished wooden cane tapers from the handle and is flawless. This whip measures 35 1/4” long from tip of the hook to the end of its replaced, stitched leather popper. This whip is in wonderful condition and is bound to steal the show in any appointments class or the hunt field.
