This delicate, gold filled horse shoe brooch has turquoise beads for nail heads set in the “Lucky Seven” pattern. While this piece is marked, “Gold Filled”, there are no other identifying marks.
However, the overall design gives us some clues, as well as the simple C clasp on the back & the extra long stickpin. All of these point to the late 19th c to the early 1900’s. The gold & turquoise combination was all the rage in Victorian times, and the Victorians loved the idea of the supernatural. As you might expect, they were great proponents of the Lucky Seven design. Victorian turquoise jewelry is very collectible.
The brooch measures 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”, but is lightweight enough to be worn on a blouse or dress.
