This stunningly detailed gold horseshoe brooch has tiny, white gold nails. It is a racing plate shoe showing the Lucky 7 nail pattern popular at the time. Extremely well crafted, it has a gold stockpin that fasten with a C clasp and a hinge safety lock (marked 14 kt). Unfortunately, there are no marks identifying the maker or exact age of this absolutely masterful piece. We estimate it to be early 1900’s and American made.
The shoe measures approximately 1” x 1 1/4”. It was designed to hang with the bars down, so Luck would awash the wearer. We do not recommend wearing it the other way, as this could compromise the effectiveness of the safety hinge clasp. Would look lovely in the dressage arena.
