This bracelet was purchased through an Australian dealer. It is unmarked, so it may have originally been produced there, or perhaps, imported. The cut out, floral design, is embellished with appliqué of 9 kt gold: green & yellow gold for the leaves & rose gold for the flowers.
The edges of the bracelet are hand engraved in a repeating diamond pattern. It is hinged & closes with a clamper style catch.
This amazing piece is 1” wide and 1 1/2” at the buckle. It is ovoid, and 2 1/2” x 2 1/8”. There are a few minor signs of wear, but overall, it is in excellent shape.
Although we cannot establish its exact age or the identity of its maker, the outstanding quality of the decorative workmanship in this piece gives it a much higher collector’s value than your standard 19th c buckle bracelet. I have yet to see another bracelet even remotely similar. This is truly a special item & its price reflects that value.
