We converted this lovely old antique Sterling horse shoe & whip brooch into a pendant & attached it to a modern, Sterling, chunky link, snaffle bit necklace. The 18" necklace opens & closes w a stylish, T bar toggle & loop catch, located at the front of the necklace. The pendant is 1.25" x 1.25".
The finely detailed brooch was made & signed, W.C.M., by silversmith William C. Manton of Hylton St in Birmingham, England, in either 1885 or 1893. (The date letter is hard to distinguish. See last few photos of hallmarks on back of pendant & Birmingham date mark chart.)
This is a unique, AH design and a one-of-a-kind blend of art & history. Both On Trend & classic, this necklace is a timeless statement piece & future heirloom.
