Three "paste" diamonds (antique equivalent to a modern, faux diamond) are prong & bezel set on a 1.5" double bar brooch. A "Lucky Seven" horse shoe w hand etched details is at the center.
This brilliant pin looks as good on a stock as it does on a mink or denim. It closes w a metal pin and simple "C" shaped clasp as is consistent w brooches of this period. As you would expect for such an old item, it shows subtle signs of wear, which only add to its charm.
Please note that the pin extends slightly beyond the brooch. This is the way early brooches were designed and is one way we can date this piece. The pin can be made shorter by a jeweler, should you wish. We have left it intact in "original, antique condition" so that the Antiques Roadshow experts won't lecture you if you ever take it to an event! Just be mindful of this design when you take it on & off.
